Head of Legal and Casework: Mollie Simpson BL
Mollie is a Barrister with extensive legal experience. After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with an LLB (Hons.) she attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast and was called to the Bar in September 2000.
Mollie developed a successful and varied practice at the Bar, eventually choosing to specialise in the area of Child Law. Having gained substantial experience in this area Mollie then decided to leave private practice and move into the public sector.
Mollie joined NICCY in March 2010 as Head of Legal and Casework. At present she is studying for the DChild doctorate in Childhood Studies.
Senior Legal and Casework Officer: Colette McIlvanna LLB (Hons)
Colette studied Law and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast and graduated in 2000. She completed her Certificate of Professional Legal Studies at the Institute for Legal Studies from 2000-2002. In 2002 she qualified as a Solicitor and worked in private practice in which her main focus was around Child and Family Law.
Colette joined the public sector in August 2010 and from this joined NICCY in September 2010 as Senior Casework Officer. At present she is progressing with a Master’s Degree in Human Rights.
Acting Legal and Casework Officer: Sinead Mallon LLB (Hons)
Sinead studied Law and Business Studies at the University of Ulster Magee and graduated in 2005. She completed her Professional Legal Studies Course and qualified as a Solicitor in 2009. Sinead then worked in private practice, focusing on child law. Sinead joined NICCY in January 2012.
Temporary Administrative Officer for Legal and Casework Team: David Moore
