NICCY Legal CPD Event - Tuesday 27th March
NICCY held its annual CPD legal event on the 27th March with guest speaker Dr McGleenan QC. The Commissioner, Patricia Lewsley-Mooney, introduced the event and welcomed those attending. This was followed by Chief Executive, Mairead McCafferty, who provided a context to NICCY's work. The Head of the Legal and Casework team and Senior Legal and Casework officer also spoke about the legal work of the team in 2011/12, as well as upcoming work and new initiatives. Visiting Ballysally Primary School - Thursday 22nd March
The Commissioner was invited to visit Ballysally Primary School to see all the participative projects in the school. The Commissioner saw how Balysally Primary School is listening to pupils' views and feeding these into decisions that will affect their education.

Celebrating the Successes of Young People - Tuesday 13th March
The Commissioner was the key note speaker at an awards event to celebrate the successes of young people in care in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. 190 young people in foster and residential care were nominated by their social workers and received awards for a range of achievements including; education, training, driving tests, Duke of Edinburgh, sports and arts.
