When we carried out further research we decided that as other organisations were currently carrying out similar work we should not repeat efforts, but should work to support and add value to their efforts. We therefore decided to focus this year on the other areas you voted for. These include:
- A report on the issues around disciplining children and young people was completed with partner organisations, Barnardo’s, NICCY and the NSPCC. The 'Smacking Debate' in Northern Ireland - Messages from Research, is available to read in two parts: part 1, part 2, or you can read a summary of the main points.
- Using this report and other information we will look at better ways to help and support parents discipline their children
- We worked in partnership with Children are Unbeatable to host an event focusing on positive parenting
- We have published policy and campaign briefings on supporting families as part of our Make it Right Campaign
