NICCY’s ‘Statement on Children’s Rights in Northern Ireland’ (SOCRNI) is its first such publication and is informed by current developments within the United Nation Committee’s Concluding Observations of the UK Government in 2016, and NICCY’s work with stakeholders on key priorities.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an agreement signed by the UK Government that lists over 40 promises made to children and young people so that they will be treated equally and fairly.
The NICCY Youth Panel with support of NICCY staff created a booklet for children and young people that highlights the many issues that children and young people are facing. It also outlines the calls to action that NICCY is making to our Government to improve the lives of all children and young people in Northern Ireland.
