Feedback from Participating Groups

During the event last November, young people where challenged to develop their own action plans on the important issues they were interested in.

See below for some examples of how young people have raised these issues:

  1. Report from Niamh Carroll, on behalf of young people from Belfast Royal Academy on raising the issue of poverty in her school.
  2. The Northern Ireland Assembly was awarded Erasmus+ funding to develop a youth engagement project from February 2015 to January 2016. The programme gave 36 young people the opportunity to actively participate in democratic life by working closely with the Northern Ireland Assembly on an inquiry issue chosen by them. They chose mental health and produced 3 videos and a report.
