A Remembrance Board has been opened on the website of the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People to pay tribute to the life and work of Nigel Williams, who died yesterday.

A notice board for memories of Nigel has also been opened by the charity he helped found, Childnet International.

Acting Commissioner at NICCY, Barney McNeany, said everyone at the Office of the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People had been deeply moved by the tributes received since Nigel¹s death.

As friends and colleagues we knew how much an impact Nigel made on those around him, and the children and young people he worked for and with, he said.

With Nigel’s passion for technology and the positives benefits it can bring to children and young people it was appropriate to use the NICCY website to mark his death.

We will also be considering lasting ways we can mark Nigel’s contribution to children and young people and their rights in Northern Ireland and further afield.
