The Commissioner for Children and Young People, Nigel Williams, called today for more rehabilitation services, both in a specialist unit and in the community for children with brain injuries. Speaking at a conference organised by the Northern Ireland Brain Injury Forum and the DHSPSS in Cookstown, the Commissioner said “Northern Ireland has wonderful facilities at the Royal Victoria Children’s Hospital to help children immediately after serious brain injury, but we need to do more to help them after they are discharged from hospital”.
