“I am pleased to see the launch, of the long-awaited but very welcome, Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Framework and first Delivery Plan. This framework is crucial for addressing violence against women and girls, ensuring the safety of victims, and holding offenders accountable.
“The consequences of violence against children, regardless of gender, are well-documented. I believe the publication of the framework provides much-needed direction to key partners on this important work.
“Delivering its ambition for societal change to end all forms of gender-based violence is a task that involves us all. The involvement of young people, especially young girls, is crucial for the outworking of the Framework and I look forward to hearing their voices in the forthcoming months and years.
“I am grateful that the Government shares this commitment to addressing violence against women and girls and look forward to seeing the necessary resources and political attention focused on this.
“This marks the beginning of meaningful change, and it is imperative that we all collaborate to foster a society where women and girls feel secure and are indeed safe.”
