Ken Smyth – Interim Head of Participation

Ken joined NICCY in 2005 and has over 30 years’ experience in working with children and young people.

He is the Senior Participation Officer within the Policy and Participation team, managing the Participation team. Ken provides strategic participation advice to government departments and associated statutory agencies, to ensure the voices of young people are heard. He also works with the NICCY Youth Panel, especially with their education initiatives.

Outside of work, Ken enjoys fishing, rugby, cooking, golf – and being on the rollercoaster that comes with being a Leeds United supporter.
