The ‘Ten is too Young’ organisations have published a joint briefing paper for MLAs in advance of their deliberations on the Justice Bill. It encourages MLAs to take a child’s rights-based approach, consider and act upon the voice of the child, and fully recognise the array of UN Convention rights afforded to them.
The ‘Ten is too young’ member organisations have submitted individual written and oral evidence to the Committee since its introduction, and consider that this Bill represents the only opportunity in this mandate to legislate on further matters relating to youth justice and have agreed a list of key asks for the Committee and MLAs to consider.
The Joint Briefing Paper on the Justice Bill contains the organisations’ key asks and is available to download on the right-hand side of this page.
